ABOUT

New Skype for iPhone is rebuilt from scratch to be faster, smoother and more reliable. It has been redesigned with attention to detail that iOS users expect and appreciate, whilst designers and engineers sweated over every pixel. It’s also simplified with a focus on your conversations.

To communicate this in the creative campaign, the brief was to celebrate the 'handcrafted tech' inherent to the new app design and appeal to the typical creative professional iPhone consumer by showing what might be possible when using new app.

In response I commissioned two creatives (Kate Moross and Jamie Elliott) to collaborate over Skype, with a live brief to ‘Remaster’ the Skype logo in the form of an interactive installation which was ‘powered by conversation’. We then captured that creative process, showcasing Skype for iPhone at the heart of the exercise. The final art piece they created is the physical embodiment of ‘handcrafted tech’ and was eventually installed in the Skype London office reception.
