The unattended retail world has its quiet corners: operational hiccups, muted customer engagement, and a whisper of sustainability worries. Compass Group stepped up to the mic, and with the help of Cygnus launched Amplifi as a vibrant umbrella brand to harmonise its acquisitions across the UK and tackle these challenges head-on. The goal? To amplify growth, elevate customer experiences, and champion sustainable practices across the nation.

Idea

To create a brand that’s unlike any other and to make some noise within an industry relying on photos of old dusty vending machines and traditional ways. Based on our competitor analysis we highlighted the opportunity to go against the grain and sea of sameness that existed within the sector. Amplifi burst onto the scene as a bold new brand, with a disruptive tone of voice and approach to how they do business.

Impact

Our brief was to develop a new brand aimed at connecting our strategy with amazing creativity. We needed an agency that would deliver the strategic thinking necessary for market positioning combined with innovative design and messaging that would make our new brand resonate and stand-out.

Cygnus has created a brand and crafted an experience and a perception that is already living in the minds of our colleagues and customers, fostering loyalty and commitment - this is testament to Cygnus’s creative and strategic capabilities, they listened carefully, understood, and then delivered! There is excitement and genuine engagement with the brand name, and Amplifi truly stands out visually, as well as being differentiated from competitors in the industry.

Amplifi provides a solid springboard to build our new business, and we’re already building momentum with the ambition of being the leading Smart Retail operator in the UK&I.
