About me

I graduate from Exeter University this July with a degree in English Literature and I have a strong interest in starting a career in marketing.

I feel that this role would strongly suit the knowledge and skills that I have gained from my degree, and my personal attributes. My degree has taught me to approach situations with an analytical mind and has always encouraged fresh thought, adaptability and to approach any new challenge with enthusiasm. It has been rigorously research based and has greatly improved my articulation and communication skills as it has placed a great emphasis on interaction. I have also learnt to work well under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.

My CV shows that I have been placed in a range of roles, including specifically in the publishing industry, where I have demonstrated a high level of communication, interpersonal and organisational skills so I am confident that I would be able to succeed within the role.

Sector Experience

- Internship at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (June 2012), I experienced working in the nautical books department, Adlard Coles, at Bloomsbury Publishing House. During my time there I was taught about copy-editing and proof reading and given both raw texts and almost finished texts to edit and comment upon. I was also given market research projects for possible upcoming book ideas., - Internship at August Equity, London (April 2011)., I had work experience at a private equity firm in London where I was mainly responsible for transferring client data from one database to their newly installed database. My other tasks included composing glossaries for various business proposals, filing and organising former business deals and I was also able to sit in on a number of meetings that discussed current business ventures.
