About me
Dear Sir/ Madam,
My Background in the Literature and Theatre
I believe I would be right for this role as I possess a degree in English Literature and Drama as well as a passion for writing, proof-reading and editing. I am a strong writer with a love of the arts. I volunteered with the Almeida theatre for four years during sixth form and university. While I was there I wrote copy for the plays we produced, worked alongside authors and became the Marketing Officer to advertise our youth performances and creating a strategy to market them.
I took this experience to Icon Theatre as the Marketing Manager for their touring show, I continued to advance my copywriting, developed a social media campaign and documented their rehearsal process; sharing photos as part of the social media campaign. I researched and examined current trends to observe what the best social media strategy to implement would be and how I could trial a new approach and monitor its success. I have content management experience and developed social media campaigns. Creating thought-provoking and unusual campaigns was my favourite part of these experiences which is why this role appeals to me.
Another relevant experience I had with the Almeida Theatre was undergoing Workshop Facilitation training and from this creating community outreach workshops which we delivered in local youth centres to at risk youth. It was wonderful to see teenagers' inspired and gaining new confidence and enjoyment while making stronger links to their community.
My Marketing, Communications and Coordination Experience
My experience as PA to the Chairman and as Recruitment Coordinator have both required me to constantly manage several projects on the go and sharpened my ability to prioritise under pressure. I have had to be extremely organised and I have been lucky enough to have been exposed to all different aspects of the production process; varying from proofreading and editing proposals, learning and using InDesign to create visuals as well as project management. As PA to the Chairman I also project managed all his projects and part of this was being the first point of contact for stakeholders for the Stratford Waterfront project we are involved with as well as other projects.
My Bid Management experience at LDA Design centred around managing the design of our tender documents. The bids needed to be high quality and beautifully designed in order to win new business. Working with the Graphic Designer at LDA Design I worked on new templates for our bids, proposals and presentations. This involved ensuring our brand was recognisable in our use of text and images as well as maintaining our tone of voice.
I am a highly motivated, meticulous and diligent individual with a drive to be successful. My strengths lie in efficiency, organisation and creativity and for this reason I believe I could bring a real passion and a lasting impact to the role and campaigns.
