About me
I am a freelance graphic designer based in Bridgend in South Wales.
Most recently I worked for International Greetings for 4 years as a graphic designer. My role involved working on any one of their 24 UK accounts to create contemporary designs across gift wrap, cards, crackers and gift bags. Their accounts include some of the largest UK retailers including Sainsburys, Debenhams and House Fraser. The work also involved creating ranges for customers and having an understanding of the most recent trends as well as some designing with supplied artwork. Alongside the creative aspect of the job there was a lot of work in terms of making work print ready as the company has its own factory and produces all the giftwrap on site. So an understanding of the print process was crucial to minimise any issues at the production stage. For the last year in the role I was the main designer for the company's own Brand, Tom Smith. So I had responsibility for creating the majority of the artwork and ensuring all work was consistent across the range.
Previous to my role at International Greetings I have worked as a freelance designer, being involved in a wide variety of projects including catalogues, advertising, POS and more. Being a freelancer taught me to be adaptable and to have the ability to pick up new skills quickly. I am now looking for a fresh challenge and making full use of my experience.
