About me

I am a highly accomplished communications project manager looking to excel in a new environment. I have over 22 years' experience planning, managing and delivering complex and varying projects, with an excellent record of process improvement, budget management, negotiation and customer service. I am highly analytical and logical, with an outstanding eye for detail. I am looking for new challenges in an organisation where I can use my extensive experience to bring fresh and unique insight.

My last role was with the Medical Protection Society (MPS) as the Communications Project Manager. Whilst working for MPS I was responsible for the management of projects within the Communications and Policy department helping to drive forward MPS's marketing communications strategy. I ensured that complex projects were delivered to schedule and within budget leading to the achievement of corporate and departmental objectives.

I contributed to the development of the Marketing Communications strategy and the wider communications strategy by developing and implementing relevant project plans.

As part of the management team within the Communications and Policy department I provided specialist advice to the Head of Marketing Communications (my line manager) as well as the Director of Communications and Policy, the Head of Corporate Communications and the Head of external Relations. My role also required day-to-day interactions with senior executives such as the Chief Executive, Executive Director of Member Engagement and the Executive Director of Finance.

Whilst at MPS I had day-to-day responsibility for £650,000 of the Marketing Communications annual budget. Using an Excel spreadsheet I recorded each item of expenditure against each individual budget line and developed a monthly report for my line manager. Each quarter I prepared a report for review by the Director of Communications and Policy.

During my time at MPS I delivered numerous strategic marketing projects. These ranged from simple projects to deliver a message to a small group of members to projects more complex that needed completing within certain time constrictions.

I am proficient in using Microsoft Office and have used Word and to prepare project operational plans, management plans, measurement plans, budget and stakeholder management plans. I have used Excel to prepare project plans, budget spreadsheets and RAID documents. I have used Outlook, and other email platforms, daily since 1996.
