I am a driven, creative and adaptable media professional with a passion for pushing the boundaries of storytelling with new technologies.
In having a film-making background I have used my prior skills and knowledge to develop a unique style in capturing and directing virtual reality based experiences.
I craft original and compelling stories in both fiction and documentary production. I have an advanced understanding in strereoscopic 360 capture with various camera systems and how this translates into the post-production workflow, this enables me to make informed and rational creative decisions whilst directing on VR productions.
In November 2015 I directed the Project Orpheus VR Experience in partnership with the ACIN, MediaLab Amsterdam, AVROTROS, NL Film, WeMakeVR and AMP Amsterdam. The production which was one of the first to feature a spatial sound mix in cinematic VR has received several nominations and was recently awarded the bronze prize at the Dutch VR Awards.
Back at the 2015 Dutch VR Days Bejamin de Wit, executive producer of ASHES TO ASHES and founder of VR Days Europe, came up with the idea together with WeMakeVR to work with AVROTROS and Submarine Channel to create an experiment in VR. Three directors from different professional backgrounds were invited to join forces; theater director Ingejan Ligthart Schenk, film director Jamille van Wijngaarden and Steye Hallema - the first director in the Netherlands to specialise in VR. I was then invited onto the production as the Director of Photography and once the film entered the post production phase I lead in the effort as post production supervisor. The film is written by Anne Barnhoorn, one of the most awarded screenwriters in The Netherlands.
Ashes to Ashes won the gold medal at Dutch VR Awards for best immersive 360 video on March .
Since then I have been travelling globally to deliver the highest standard of Virtual Reality Cinematic Content.
