About me

I completed a BA (Hons) in Product Design in August 2007 and I am currently looking for employment in the design industry. I worked part-time in a local supermarket while studying for my degree and continued working there after completing my course. On completion of my course I took a volunteer work opportunity in the USA for 3 months where I worked on various conservation projects in the South West of America.

I found the volunteer work a truly valuable experience and it taught me a lot about group interaction and working as a team. However, I now feel that I need to find employment where I can expand on my design skills. I have been working voluntarily at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education with the E-Learning department for the last few months where I have gained some experience using design packages such as Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Quark and Photoshop. Whilst studying Product Design I mainly used sketching to communicate ideas and then Alias Maya and Photoshop to produce 3D models and present final proposals.

I am very keen to gain employment in the design industry and although I have limited experience in graphic design packages I feel I have the necessary skills to learn new software packages quickly and develop skills gleaned throughout my time at university.
