About me
I went to artschool in Enschede, whose fundaments were built on the principles of Bauhaus; unite creative imaginition with a practical knowledge of crafstmanship. Here I took classes in painting, sculpture, fashion design and photography and went on to pusue a career in journalistic photography after graduating. In the next 5 years I worked as a freelance photographer for various national and international editorial titles and got nominated for the PANL award.During this time I completed a one-year post graduate course for applied creativity and concept development which brought me into the world of advertising where I could combine my love for photography, moving image, text and design.I then started working as an art-director and have been working since in various agencies with different DNA; the hot Amsterdam start up agency Neboko (now TBWA/Neboko), the independant global agency StrawberryFrog and the network of the year agency BBDO.In each agency I learned how to use a different set of skill and worked with different types of media to get the message across. These Bauhaus fundaments are still important to me; use a conceptual mind, combine different media channels and work with different talent and skills in an environment where aplied creativity can make a difference.Photography is still a big love of mine.
