About me
I want to be the best I can be and share that with others. I am a dedicated, creative, pragmatic, energetic and enthusiastic solutions finder. I am very much a team player and provide a professional service and approach. I photograph documentary, editorial, events, publicity, corporate and locations, and I am looking for opportunities in unit stills. I am also a qualified educator and coach and have many years experience at a strategic senior management and leadership level.
Like most college leavers, I started my career as a photographic assistant and freelance photographer. I joined the BBC photographic studio (88-90) using studio flash, medium/large format etc before joining the Met in July 1990 as a forensic photographer. It was there that I really honed my skills using multiple formats, film processing and printing, joined the video team and used professional ENG broadcast HD video cameras and off-line editing. I am proficient in Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Aperture, MS Office and I utilize both Mac and PC platforms.
I managed a busy operations office before designing and delivering the first professional forensic photographic training in the MPS, that involved the management of assignments to a team of photographers for North London, close liaison with customers and key stakeholders, and detailed data input for audit purposes.
I was chairman of the Expert Working Group for Standardized Photography Training for Interpol, and in 2003 I gained my Cert Ed. through the University of Greenwich and in 2005 was promoted to Head of the Forensic Faculty for the MPS. This required the use of much more management and strategic focussed skills. In 2012 I gained a Diploma from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, to become a qualified people coach, and to date I have successfully coached and mentored many individuals to achieve success.
I have always maintained my love of image making, and will continue to do so until my eyes or mind finally give up!
