About me

After having gone to New York Film Academy in New York and London to study cinema and broadcast production, I have been actively involved in the film and television medium. I have evolved creatively and technically through writing, directing and editing independent short films; participating in a number of documentaries and music videos; being involved in the coverage of events and working in institutions such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and in advertising at Panorâmica 35. However, my main knowledge and expertise in Post Production came from working at The Farm Group, especially as a conformer. I had the opportunity to work on numerous Netflix and Amazon shows which was really fulfilling for me. These experiences have helped me mature and evolve both as a person and as a professional.

I have also lived more than 10 years of my life in England. In fact, not only is English one of my first languages, but also English is a part of our family: I have a half-sister who is British. You could say my family has grown more and more accustomed to the British culture, essential in my education growing up.

My passion for cinema and television started when I understood that someone could tell a story through imagery and sound and have a profound impact on people. A world where we follow specific characters and we see their development on screen, characters we can relate to, the obstacles they face, the journey they go through or simply a moment they want to hold on for as long as possible. I quickly realized I wanted to be a part of this medium.

The main editing tools I normally use are Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro CC, but I also use Final Cut Pro 7/X if necessary. I also use color grading software such as Da Vinci Resolve and Adobe Speedgrade to properly treat the image. In situations needed to erase, replace certain things or use motion graphics, Adobe After Effects is the program I use. However, compositing is the field I am least comfortable with.
