Dear Sir or Madam,

I have had many years' experience working in the photographic and video profession; this has given me the opportunity to work within many fields, always ensuring customer satisfaction. I have a scientific and technical training background which makes me well versed in the science of imaging as well as the aesthetic, but also gives me the knowledge for things like problem solving and getting the job done whatever the obstacle.

My post for the MoD was an interesting and ever changing one, it includes course design, developing, building and updating courses, writing both formal and practical exams, assessing both written and visual course content for student assessment and teaching. The school of photography currently teach digital photography for RAF, Army and Navy prior to their deployment. I have also been involved with electronic news gathering (video) and video editing this includes training for the combat camera teams that deliver much of the news footage from the front line.

The course and budget administration had me dealing and liaising with outside contractors and suppliers for digital computer suites and various computer and photographic equipment. I have had experience with working within tight budgets, having to developing cost effective financing and assessing contracted bids for work, maintenance and new equipment.

I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills developed over many years with a huge variety of people from the Royal family to the average man on the street. This has served me well developing good working relationships with budget holders, short-term contractors, government contractors and students.

I am now working freelance, but I would relish the opportunity to be working full time and to add my expertise to your team. I feel that the post would be ideal for me with the skills that I have developed in over many years.
