About me
Paula is a London-based designer concerned with the politics of truth. After obtaining her qualifications in graphic design and visual communication from the University of Westminster and the Royal College of Art, she trained at design and architecture studios in London.
She set up her independent practice in 2018 and since then, Paula has been a lecturer and speaker on graphic design in universities in the UK and across Europe. She was a panellist and featured guest at her first international design conference at the age of 28.
In 2020, Paula became part of the Professional Mentoring Scheme at the University of Arts London where she mentors recent graduates, helping them transition into the world of work.
She has experience in managing small internal and external teams and appointing as well as managing producers, such as printers, on behalf of her clients.
In her spare time, Paula enjoys boxing, hiking, writing and designing typefaces.
Paula has experience working as an in-house graphic designer for architectural practices: acting as the graphic standards guardian, creating diagrams, graphic resources for architectural staff, designing bids, stage reports, planning submission and presentation templates, consulting on wayfinding and signage, as well as managing websites in addition to marketing material.
Paula has worked with clients in cultural sectors in different parts of the world. For example, designing an installation for United Arab Emirate's first graphic design biennial, conducting design research for a non-profit design collective in Switzerland, creating event graphics for a Czech online design festival and designing an exhibition catalogue for Tate in the UK.
