About me

Hello all,

My name is Paul Wheeler and I'm currently looking for work in the animation industry.

I'm a keen animator and modeller, currently working at an events and marketing company as a contractor, creating visualization stills using Mental Ray and 3DS MAX in a fast moving creative department. In my spare time I continue to create character animations, character models and rigs, and am also penciling and digitally painting for a comic.

I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Character Animation at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design with Steve Roberts in 2007, and am keen to work as a character animator. Since leaving I have found it hard to get work as an animator but am still updating my skills, learning zbrush for instance, and pushing to create new animation. Much of my showreel is new material created after the course finished, and I am working to create more.

Before my animation diploma, I worked for 6 years for the University of Teesside, creating models and realtime environments for stereoscopic display at their VR Centre. In this period I learnt many skills including 6 years modelling using 3D Studio Max with Character Studio, modellling, rigging and animating with Maya, and scripting for Flash and Director, as well as C programming..

I would consider any opportunities you may have on offer, but am particularly interested in working as a character animator.

If you think you may have a position to which I am suited, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

A link to my showreel is provided below. I hope you like my work and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Wheeler.
