About me

My name is Paul Robertson and I would like to be considered for the role of Junior / Midweight Designer.

I am an ambitious and highly creative graphic designer, educated to degree level and 5 years professional design experience at Zodiac, a retailer of domestic and catering kitchen equipment. In my current role at Zodiac I am solely responsible for all in-house design; including packaging artwork, fliers and publications, the annual company catalogue and pricelist and product photography. Additional responsibilities include: the up-keep of the company website, managing email marketing campaigns and the design and production of the company newsletter.

I have an excellent understanding of the design process, from initial visions and concepts, art direction through to the final production of artwork. I consider myself a very competent and skilled user of Adobe Creative Suite software, excelling in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I also have experience of producing design for websites and email marketing campaigns, ensuring a consistent brand identity across different platforms. Skills I have developed at Zodiac include logo design and brand management. A good example of this is a range of Professional Bar Equipment that I created, for a major cash and carry outlet in Ireland. I co-managed the project and produced artwork guidelines for all packaging and marketing material. I have great experience of dealing with customers. I consider myself an excellent communicator, understanding customer's desires as well as presenting design work and explaining ideas.

In my current role I have experience of working independently, as part of a small team, managing external freelance suppliers and organising photoshoots. I am a flexible worker, always happy to go the extra mile for the benefit of the company. I believe strong attributes of mine include my ability to be creative in the workplace and solve problems. I respond well to challenging deadlines by prioritizing workloads and have an excellent work ethic.

I have a passion for design that extends beyond my current position as Design and Marketing Executive. Always keen to work with other creative people, I have gained experience and enhanced my expertise in a wide range of creative fields and design disciplines. I consider myself a versatile designer, having produced artwork in a wide variety of formats. My portfolio includes logo design, packaging, catalogues and brochures, fliers, websites, photography, typography and CD album artwork. As requested I have only attached 3 examples of my work. My current salary is £21,000 -

Without wishing to undersell myself I would accept a matching salary. Salary is obviously important, however at this stage of my career I put a greater value of being part of creative team producing excellent design work. I very much hope to hear from you soon.
