About me
It's difficult sometimes to fit into a category; I'm strangely shaped peg in a hole of my own making. I've done some things I wondered whether I could and others I wondered why I was.
I've presented a TV programme on Sky Sports One with Lisa Rodgers and directed a TV advert starring Pavel Nedved, I've created several global advertising campaigns including one, 'Improve Your FQ', that I once saw on Brazilian television!
I've written, devised, pr-ed, marketed and advertised products and ideas mainly in the football, gaming, restauant and design sectors. At the moment I'm a freelance copywriter and brand consultant. I sit in my office at home and quite happily tap away on subjects ranging from Paul Gambaccini to the technology inherent in football shinguards. I've been a writer in varying forms for a decade now. News, features, advertising copy, scripts and I have book out in August 2009. I'd like to think I can put engaging copy together on time and on budget.
My wife describes me as an 'inventor'. That's because if I had to name one core skill it would be thinking of ways to improve. I suppose that's why I enjoy writing - it's always an opportunity to discover something new and convey it in accessible terms to someone else. I like to think the hard work I put in means the reader can quickly, effortlessly and enjoyably access new information.
It's a small way to improve people's lives, but it's my way.
