About me
I have over 7 years of agency experience working with flash, as well as other related web technologies (html, javascript, and many others). My experience is primarily games related although I do have some experience with creating other applications. I have worked extensively with both AS2 and 3, using OOP in both versions. I know pretty much everything there is to know about wringing performance out of flash, from computer science basics (algorithms, datastructures, etc) to language level considerations (object pooling, scope chain, garbage collection etc).
I have worked with several communication protocols with flash, including XML, JSON, AMF, and Smartfox Server, as well as integrating flash with Javascript.
I have created several major projects working with 3rd party APIS, such as Facebook.
I have (in the past) written an AS2 3D engine (to the best of the knowledge, the fastest one in existence. I am also familiar with working with the starling framework, for taking advantage of hardware graphics acceleration for 2D graphics.
I have written several backends for games, including highscores systems, user accounts systems, as well as various other web apps.
I am extremely passionate about working with flash, particularly for building great games, but also top-quality apps.
I have developed over 50 commercial applications, but some of my highlights are:
Red Bull Kart Fighter World Tour (*-)
Tesco Mobile: The Nations Noggin (*/)
Tinie Tempah: The Game (*+Tempah+-+the+Game)
Pepsi: Skyline Soccer (*+Soccer)
Freeway Fallguy (*+Fallguy)
King of Shaves: King of Defenders (*+of+Defenders)
All of the above, except for The Nations Noggin were built as viral games, and all have had massive success, with millions of unique players. This is especially true of King of Defenders, which to the best our my knowledge is the most successful branded viral game of all time with over 58 million unique players.
