About me

I'm an enthusiastic, creative and innovative designer with ample experience and the appropriate skills to fill this position.

I hold a BDes (Bachelor in Design) in Visual Communication awarded to me from Ireland's leading art college, NCAD (National College of Art and Design). In 2003, while at university, I was specially chosen from a select group of undergraduates to work under former vice-president of Icograda, Micheal Hardt at his studios in Saarbrucken, Germany.

I have excellent CSS/xhtml skills and good understanding of Javascript and PHP. I've used all of these technologies on websites I coded myself incorporating various CMSs such as Wordpress, Modx etc. I also have experience working within a team, with developers and marketing executives. Through cooperation with these teams and offering design insights I have helped client's achieve their online goals. With five years experience working in varied design fields such as business collateral, corporate identity and web design I have a flexible dynamic skillset. While focusing on my work in branding design for the web I've always kept a keen eye for detail and pixel perfect CSS design.

I have a strong interest in usability and user experience and try to use usability best practice principles when creating web designs. One example is the implementation of the step-through ticketing page for the National Wax Museum Plus. A four stage step process with side-note explanations was used to make a free-flowing user experience.
