About me
Skills
As a designer with more than ten years experience I have worked on various commercial developments from initial brief through to on-site completion, with projects ranging from £20,000 to £10m plus. Project management and logistics experience, including: the development of approved designs into on-site construction drawings; demolition planning; general layouts; M&E drawings; bespoke joinery drawings; research of new/alternative materials and products suited to clients’ requirements and/or budgets; and liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely and high standards of finish. Liaising with clients, architects, specialist contractors, and engineers. Negotiating costs and fees, and ensuring accurate quotations and documentation for tender. Managing a team of designers on multiple projects simultaneously while overseeing design development.
Sector Experience
Design director on commercial, corporate and institutional interior-design projects. Managed and collaborated on projects entailing all aspects of commercial design: conceptualisation, customer focus, branding, and graphic treatments. Developed comprehensive tender presentations which detailed project + design objectives; project and site management planning; CAD drawings; construction logistics; and detailed budget and timeline management expectations. From conception to completion, projects demanded a continual mix of sound team management skills and constructive collaboration.
