About me
I have always wanted to be a creative. My first love was space Lego, I ignored the instructions and built new spaceships, I believed I was the greatest spaceship designer aged nine. These dreams changed to concept car designer and architect as I entered my teens.
My art teacher encouraged me to pursue a career in graphic design, although I wasn't entirely certain
what it involved! When presented with the option of bank clerk or librarian for my school work experience,
I independently arranged a placement at a local design agency. I enjoyed my time so much that I decided
it was the right job for me.
After leaving school I studied at Newham College for five years, attaining a BTEC HND in Graphic Design.
I offered myself to several London design agencies for work placements over the summer, to gain valuable experience. My hard work was rewarded at The Design Distillery with a permanent job offer as junior designer. I worked on corporate identity, literature, magazine and packaging for a varied list of clients.
I then worked in publishing at De Agostini UK; partwork magazines, point of sale and promotional material. Edenco emerged from De Agostini, and I was asked to join the team, worked on magazines, card sets and corporate literature, and acquired experience in art direction, managing projects and small teams. In 2000
I went back to my roots at the design department of Newham Council. I enjoyed a large and varied workload; managing projects from start to finish. I secured a similar role at Havering Council, with the extra responsibility of managing the department.
In 2002 I relocated to Brighton, joined a small consultancy and adapted back to the private sector; identity, literature and promotional material. I set up Launchpad in 2004, and have a variety of clients in art consultancy, education, manufacturing and marketing. I also work as a freelancer for a number of design agencies. I have lived in Worthing since 2011. I am hard working, thoughtful, ambitious and adaptable, always giving 100% - whatever the challenge might be!
