About me
I'm a very accomplished writer - in almost any field. That's the main ability I'd bring to this position. Including my journalistic experience, I've written professionally for the last twenty years, and have covered a very wide range: everything from advertising copy (for numerous companies) to creative writing, journalism to feature writing, technical writing to stage and screen drama. I can write to any length, and pride myself on producing fast, clean prose. Thanks to my extensive sub-editing experience, I'm also a skilled headline writer and editorial man. There's something else I can offer: when I first entered journalism, it was in the trade press. I learned the craft writing articles and brochures for financial advisors Blay's Guides, so I have hands-on experience of penning for the commercial and industrial sectors.
My people skills would also be of use. I've not just been perched at a desk these last two decades. I've been required to travel and network extensively - as a reporter, as a jobbing writer, as someone who's often held seminars and workshops. Meeting people, coaxing information from them, imparting news and knowledge in a lively, informative way, are the things I love the most, and thus the things I excel at.
