About me

Having worked as a Graphic Designer for the past four years I feel that I am an ideal candidate for the role of Presentations Designer. My experience has enabled me to gain a fundamental understanding of the requirements of this role.

My experiences within graphic design positions have required me to develop a keen eye for design as well as an astute eye for detail, while allowing me to explore creative thought. During my four years of experience, (since graduating from a Graphic Communications degree) I have developed superior copy writing, editorial and proof reading skills. I am an excellent communicator with considered interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour! I am familiar with compiling design strategies, working to tight budgets, and ensuring cost effectiveness. I am used to being regularly required to work to tight deadlines, and whilst this can often cause a pressurised environment, I am able to maintain a very high standard of work and professionalism as well as sustaining a good working relationship with both colleagues and clients, thus I pride myself on my ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.

Through my studies during my degree in Graphic Communications, and since then during my career as a Graphic Designer, I have developed a strong understanding of marketing techniques and I am keen to work within the context of a Communications and Marketing team. I would be a valuable asset to a communications team by offering considered and committed input on design during the production of marketing materials; having this kind of input is something that I am not only confident with but very much enjoy. I thrive when working as part of a team or as a self motivated individual who is flexible, patient and who also likes to put a smile of the faces of others.

I am highly computer literate and use inDesign, Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator (alongside others including Microsoft packages) on a daily basis. I am also familiar with liaising with external companies, such as print suppliers, and have a good understanding of the process of print buying and print management. I also have a sound understanding of copyright laws and make every effort to ensure this knowledge is current and up to date.

I believe that this combination of technical skill, communications experience, and a positive passion for design, I would the ideal candidate for this post.
