About me

Over many years I have gained expert experience in Quark Express 6 and Adobe Photoshop CS, complimented with a working knowledge of many other different programs, using both Applemac and PC systems. My current daily role includes ensuring that all newspaper pages/adverts are sent before deadline but also typsetting, scanning, colour correcting, creative retouching and artwork creation. I can follow design briefs or create my own ideas for adverts both inhouse or directly for customers. I also create page layouts for advertisement features and supplements with editorial departments, often working within the constraints of a customers branding or colour style.

Using technical skills gained in the production side of newspapers, including the designing of supplements, special publications, cover design, adverts, and using my strong creative ideas I will bring a fresh approach to any company, whilst able to follow through a project from start to finish. Staying calm, having good time managment and priortising workloads under pressure whilst retaining my sense of humour is a strength required on a daily basis, not only having to co-ordinate between editorial and advertising departments but creating adverts to fill the pages, then bringing them all together and sending them to the printing presses on time ensuring that they are in the shops the next day.

I have a can do attitude. I now want to reconnect more strongly with my artist roots working with all the aspects of design.
