About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of account executive as advertised on the Creative Pool website.

Whilst studying an NCTJ accredited journalism course and working on local newspapers I came across many press releases that were so complex and dull that I became frustrated and felt that I could produce something better.

I am currently working as an intern with the North, a creative PR company based in Sheffield, and I love it. It has provided me with a more holistic view of the industry: from events management and social media to liaising with journalists and building contact networks. I have also had the chance to practice more traditional forms of PR, such as copywriting, creating media lists and distributing press releases.

Most importantly I have learnt the need to be able to 'think outside the box,' coming up with new and different ideas to help catch the eyes and imagination of those we are targeting.

I believe that one of my key strengths is my ability to to communicate with various social groups by producing efficient, effective and entertaining copy. I have studied media law, understand the importance of house style and maintain a strong interest in public affairs which allows me to produce up-to-date content.

I really hope that this letter outlines my passion for the post and that you look upon my application favourably.
