About me
Hi!
My name is Patrice Heaney.
I'm currently in my 3rd and final year of my Surface Design and Printed Textile Course at The University of Northampton.
As a Surface Design Graduate, I have a unique and individual style in loose drawing, and mix media and collage techniques within my work.
I have a strong knowledge in Dying and Printing techniques; as well as 3D media such as wood, metal, clay and resin work.
I have strong knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
I have produced numerous briefs that have very different themes.
The first lot of my portfolio is based on the Vintage Brief, which I based my vintage inspiration on the sentimental of Pocket watches and orientated around Time. This was a Volunteer Brief for Cancer Research Charity shop, to produce sellable items using our talented skills for then to be sold in their shop, to re-energise and draw in new and younger customers. This is mentioned in my C.V and the work was published in the UK Cancer Research Newsletter.
The second lot of my portfolio is based on a Dance theme, which I based my inspiration on my hobby of Salsa Dancing which I intended last summer 2010. For my Final piece, I created an installation of a Dance stage where i produced wire dance figures, dyed and printed backdrops, flooring and wallpaper.
the Third lot of my portfolio is based on Culture, which I was inspired by Asian culture with their vibrant colours and the detailed patterns. Which I was indulged with their colours and incorprated it within my University Brief, where I've produced a Silk Scarf as my final outcome. I acid dyed, clear and colour discharge print onto the Silk Scarf.
In my spare time, I've produced one off pieces of a make-up bag, mobile and ipod cover and patchwork circular cushions as birthday or christmas gifts.
