And a few words about myself...
I have been working as a professional freelance photographer for about 5 years. By shooting fashion events, models, actors and coutures, I have learned and sharpened my technical and people skills.
I have "on the field" experience of the following:
- Studio lighting
- Shooting on location
- Mixing strobes with ambient light
- Posing and directing models and actors
- Choosing the right exposure and focal length for the job. F-stop to control depth of field, shutter speed to control motion blur, ISO to control light sensitivity, focal length to control perspective and compression of the scene.
- Planning, executing and delivering a photoshoot for clients. With and without Art Director
- Troubleshooting photography challenges on set
- Building my own props and light modifiers
- Post processing photos: set up appropriate white balance, select the best shots, enhance exposure/contrast,sharpness, polish images, etc... {Photoshop, Capture One, Lightroom, Phocus}
And all the above delivered in a pleasant, relaxing and fun environment for my clients, my team and myself: team morale is very important to be successful.
By working for very large e-Commerce corporations for nearly 15 years as a Software Engineer first and as a Software Development Manager for the last 5 year, I have acquired and strengthen some skills that are very hard to find in "the average photographer" but, very useful when it comes down to people and project management in a high pressure environment.
In short:
- I strongly believe in the Amazon's leadership principles: I embrace them on a daily basis and I use them as guidelines when in doubts
- I am a team player. As a manager, I never mandate anything: rather I engage my team and I work with them to make "the right choice"
- I love to work with people because I always learn something from each one of my collaborators
- When working in a team, my inclination to leadership comes out naturally and I always find myself leading my colleagues by giving them guidance, mentoring and coaching junior and try to unleash them to their own best potential
- I facilitate knowledge sharing between team members as one of the most valuable tool to build a solid and long lasting business
- I always put quality in front of everything else. I strongly believe that delivery high quality results is a rock solid long term investment for Amazon business, my team and myself
- I always pay attention to details. The difference between a "good deliverable" and an "astonishing deliverable" lays in details, and since I always aim to deliver "beyond expectations", details are paramount in my work
- I advocate consistency. Once I find a tool, a framework or a workflow that allows me and my team to deliver beyond customer expectations, I stick to it
