About me
I have always been an artistic person. Creating ideas and expressing those in an image or series of images is what I feel best decribes me. The whole process of brainstorming, inital concepts and creating the final artwork gives me a sense of achievment. My artistic style has progressed throughout my years of studying and I have always loved drawing, from my early school years, through to GCSE and A-Level, to completing my HND and finally gaining my degree.
In the years since finishing studying I have continued to draw and produce work for friends and family and recently have been offered a few commissions. The commissions will enable me to have my work seen and get my name into the marketplace, though I still harbour my ambition to work permenantly in an artistic environment, working with fellow artists. In this environment I believe I would flourish and produce work to an increasingly professional standard.
I mainly work in pencil, pen and inks. I also enjoy working in watercolours and recently have been creating pieces using silhouettes. My main artistic interests are in historical periods so I tend to research different eras and create ideas from the things I read or see. I also enjoy producing children's illustrations and have written a couple of short stories that I have started illustrating. When creating work I hope to give it a sense of realism. I think that if I can create pieces that engage with the audience on some kind of level then I have achieved something more than just producing a picture.
