About me
I am a Computer Animation and Visual Effects graduate looking for an entry level creative role, with a particular interest in video editing and animation but more than anything a strong desire to use my creativity professionally in some form.
I have long been passionate about media, especially video games and animated films/TV shows, believing strongly in these mediums' value both as entertainment and as art, and studied the course I did at university due to this passion. The process of animating, video editing and just creating in general that we did on this course only motivated me further to pursue it as a career, which I did upon graduation, however at the time I was unsuccessful, and the pressures of needing employment for basic daily survival meant that I ended up working first as bar staff and then as a customer service advisor for a few years, which were rewarding in their own way but were ultimately not what I was passionate about doing. Now having recently left that role due to mutual agreement, I have decided that this is the perfect opportunity to hopefully finally get into the creative sector in a role I enjoy.
As a result of my degree I have excellent basic knowledge, understanding and ability in the adobe package, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop, and also in 3D Modelling software such as Zbrush, Autodesk 3DS Max and Maya. My time in customer service roles have also given me valuable experience in effective communication with both customers and colleagues, and has further honed my already-existing ability to work well within a team environment as a team member, last year I have also gotten the opportunity in leading a team as a team leader. Finally I also have excellent time management and prioritisation skills as well.
