About me

I am a trained journalist with over four years' experience of writing for an online news agency.

My job involves interviewing contacts about various sectors such as health, property, business, recruitment, travel and finance and this role has allowed me to gain experience of writing news stories to fit clients' briefs and/or SEO targets.

I speak frequently with press officers and industry contacts and this has given me an excellent understanding of what makes a well-read story.

I also sub colleagues' work on a daily basis which has allowed me to develop my editorial skills.

I have taken NCTJ exams, which follow on from my journalism degree at Liverpool John Moores University and my previous education in IT and Art and Design. These courses allowed me to gain a wide experience of using computers and software such as Microsoft Office, Wordpress, Photoshop, Quark Express and Dreamweaver.

I have a passionate interest in all kinds of media, arts and sport and am particularly interested in attending music events and the cinema very regularly. I am also keen to visit new places and countries and I have enjoyed travelling to the likes of Mongolia, China, Russia and Asia in previous years.

Despite enjoying many aspects of my current job, I am eager to take on a new challenge.
