ABOUT

An Editorial cover for New Humanist, celebrating the things that are bringing us together in a world that wants to tear us apart.

In a world where division and hatred seems to be being platformed more and more each week, it was a real privilege and palette cleanser to be chosen to illustrate this story. I was specifically requested by the editor as one of their favourite cover illustrators and that’s SUCH a compliment to be trusted with such an important story.

I wanted this one to speak loudly before you had even read the headline and these hands in bloom seemed like a good fit.
When forcing people apart tends to be the flavour of the moment in politics, it’s comforting to know that there’s still some good out there bringing people together.

This illustration was used on the cover of their celebratory Summer 2025 cover nationwide, reaching approximately 130,000 readers on newsstands as well as online and across social media, spreading this positive message in these divisive times we live in.

Hand drawn in Procreate on iPad.
