About me
I have a burning curiosity for understanding what motivates human choice and behaviour - particularly in a consumerist context - and ultimately this can be distilled down to the types of products that are available on the market.
I am always looking to acquire new skills and - being an eager learner that is used to being in a fast-paced environment - I am able to pick things up with ease. I enjoy working with people, and I especially enjoy producing work to a high standard.
My previous roles in hospitality and customer service roles have nurtured my flair for working closely with patrons and consumers, where I have showcased quick decision-making and leadership skills. For example, I usually took the lead amongst my co-workers when pitching a sale to a customer which often led to the customer agreeing to join the company credit card scheme. I would regularly hit sales quotas and despite only being hired for a short time relative to my peers, I was given more responsibilities to nurture my natural leadership, such as stepping in as Sunday Manager with only little training.
I am currently a third-year undergraduate studying Psychology (with components of social psychology and neuropsychology) at the University of Kent and I am on track to receiving a first. Research is emphasised in my degree and is something I am well-versed in. For example, I am currently conducting my own research in which I am statistically analysing racial heuristics and how this impacts empathy towards members of one's social groups. Further, I am very comfortable using software such as Excel and SPSS, though I can quickly gain knowledge in other software areas on top of this.
I will be graduating in July of this year, after which I will be ready to fulfil a job role as a fresh psychology graduate. I am eager to apply what I have learnt regarding human psychology in a business context where I can make a genuine difference and take pride in it.
