About me

I have recently come to the end of my BA Degree in Journalism. Throughout my time at university I have won multiple national awards for videos that I have made and have also taken issues raised in my videos to Parliament.

I majored in Television Journalism and Sports Journalism, and have applied the skills I gained in a number of projects over the last three years. For example, I have been the Media Manager for one of the country's top women's football clubs for the last 18 months. Now I am looking to move onto something that challenges me on a creative level, as well as keeps me on thinking on my feet.

I believe that my knowledge, skills and experience make me the right person for this job. While I am only just leaving university, I have been working professionally as a film-maker and journalist for the last two years. In this time I have won two national awards for a film that I have made. In this film I was the producer, director, primary camera man and video editor. Furthermore, I have recently finished working on a film that has gained substantial interest from government.

I have had my work published on a local, national and even international stage in media such as television, radio, print and online. My ability to work in a truly multi-platform environment is something that I take great pride in. Some of the websites and publications that have published my work are:

Again, the fact that this has been achieved before I had even finished university goes some way to demonstrating my ability, as well as highlighting my ambition and drive.

I never approach a project unless I am 100% committed to doing the best job that I could possibly do. This can be seen from the recognition that I have received from within the industry. My passion for video is also something that inspires me and makes me want to work in this industry.

I believe that I thrive under high-pressure situations, as can be seen in my CV; most notably in the video I made called, 'The Anarchists/The Unions March On'. When filming this, I was co-coordinating a team of three in a hostile atmosphere. It was essential that I kept my head in order to keep the team safe. In the end, not only were we able to film safely, we also won multiple national awards for our film. We also were able to get our work published on regional television.
