About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for the role of Junior Runner. As you can see from my CV, I have seven months experience working in a media buying firm, and I believe the knowledge and skills I gained during this time make me the perfect candidate for your role.
My previous fixed-term role as an Intern Advertising Coordinator at White Label Recruitment Marketing (WLRM) has given me a comprehensive grounding for a variety of jobs in the media industry. As well as thoroughly enjoying the job I gained knowledge and insight into how the media and advertising sector work. It also gave me a passion for the industry and one I hope to follow if given this opportunity.
In my previous role I assisted my colleagues, or in some cases worked by myself, in planning and booking media campaigns for a range of high profile clients such as EY, Unilever and GSK. Starting from a job description or a brief and a rough idea of budget to a fully booked and operational campaign I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges it presented.
One important aspect of my role was dealing with clients and media queries, either over the phone or via email. Customer and colleague relations were paramount for the company to operate. I gained important customer relation skills treating clients, existing and prospective, with respect and in a business-like fashion.
On a typical day I was very busy. At times there were up to 10 campaigns at different stages of the booking process. The prioritisation I was able to give to dealing with certain requests show I am able to organise and deal with tasks in an ordered way. This area of my skills in particular will be important for a career in media.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss my application further.
Yours sincerely,
Oliver Palmer
