About me
Supporting Statement.
As a design Graduate my main skills derive from the areas of creativity, communication and problem solving. Experience in delivering professional design presentations at university and interacting with customers during my numerous part time jobs as a sales advisor has taught me valuable and varied methods of communication.
Working for a bespoke Kitchen design company in London during my work placement year was too a valuable source of knowledge, skills and building up of experience within the working world. Working with the Technical Manager I was responsible for assisting the designers in checking technical design layouts and specifications before they were sent out to the client and more importantly for manufacture. My time here presented me with three months working with the companies project management team which involved being highly organised and confident in decision making, as I was working directly with clients and furniture fitting teams.
Both aspects of this job mentioned above allowed me to grow as a designer and especially as a person as it improved my self-motivational skills and drive to achieve my best.
As a person I am very outgoing and absorbent of my surroundings. I am a big believer in an active social life, which for me involves playing football and the instrument I favour, the drums. Both these activities enable me to interact and learn from others. Other interests of mine are painting and furniture design, which also occupies my free time.
These are the activities in my life that inspire and develop my creative, imaginative approach to work, which in turn strengthens my problem solving abilities.
Throughout my studying at art college and university I have learnt a range of skills in the IT and digital area. I have experience on various programmes and design packages with the initiative to use this within the working environment.
