I should like to apply for the advertised role of Assistant Production Manager. I believe I am the candidate you are seeking.

I have recently graduated with a First Class Honours degree in English with Creative and Critical Writing which appears particularly relevant to the position you describe. Alongside the literary and purely creative elements, I also selected modules covering Publishing, Project Management and Exhibition Design and Development. These provided a breadth of commercial knowledge with which to channel my creativity.

In terms of practical experience, I have designed, planned, produced and promoted an exhibition for the Cheshire Military Museum commemorating the Normandy Landings. I had full responsibility for this project, for the content, exhibition design and promotion of the event. The exhibition had to be delivered to a tight timescale and with constraints over budget and space. It was a great success.

I am organised and used to dealing with clients and the public. I worked on the NHS telephone helpline and was promoted to a supervisory position. At times we were required to work under pressure and had to deal with members of the public who were extremely anxious.

To underscore my creative ability, I was the winner of ‘The Cheddar Gorge Challenge'. This was a competition run by the Marquis of Bath and his team to redesign the attraction. I undertook market research and developed a marketing strategy including the production of radio adverts to attract a younger demographic. This marketing awareness won me this accolade.

I also have excellent computer skills indicated by my holding of the Advanced European Computer Driving Licence. This is a suite of exams which test the understanding and application of word processing, databases, presentations, spreadsheets and internet applications. I will always apply this knowledge to solve the challenges in a commercial environment.
