About us
N-trance Media is an independent film and video production company based in Bucharest, Romania, founded in 1992 by filmmaker Mugur Marin.
The company is built around a simple idea: strong films come from understanding the people, atmosphere and purpose behind a project — not from applying the same formula to every client.
Mugur Marin is the founder, director, cinematographer, photographer and video editor behind N-trance Media. He has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in filming, photography, sound and post-production, working across documentaries, interviews, corporate productions, concerts, private events and cinematic portraiture.
Mugur’s approach combines technical precision with a highly personal way of working. He is particularly interested in real people, professions, artists and stories that deserve to be presented with honesty and visual strength. Image, sound and editing are treated as one complete language rather than separate production stages.
N-trance Media works across several areas of film and visual production:
• documentary portraits and short-form documentaries
• business stories and professional profile films
• corporate video and branded content
• interviews and testimonials
• conferences and multicamera productions
• concerts and live performances
• selected weddings and private events
• event and business photography
• editing and post-production
The company operates with a small and flexible production model. Depending on the project, Mugur works independently or builds the required crew around the production. This keeps communication direct and allows the creative direction to remain consistent from the first conversation through filming, sound, editing and final delivery.
A significant part of N-trance Media’s recent work focuses on cinematic portraits of people whose work and personality are difficult to communicate through conventional advertising.
Recent projects include a documentary portrait of Romanian sculptor Ion Mândrescu, filmed around the artist, his studio and the universe of “Om, Timp, Spațiu”; a business story with sound designer Victor Popescu / Square Sound Studio; professional profile films with lawyer Ioana Adina Marin; documentary work with dog trainer Cristian Fetter; and live concert production with Romanian band Partizan.
Through the dedicated CinematicBizStories direction, Mugur develops films about artists, professionals, entrepreneurs and people with substantial personal or professional stories. The intention is not to manufacture an artificial image, but to reveal the person behind the profession in a cinematic, credible way.
N-trance Media also produces corporate and business video for companies that need clear, professional communication: interviews, testimonials, presentations, conferences, event coverage and films that explain what a company does and who stands behind it. The current production offer ranges from a carefully lit single interview to multicamera event coverage with dedicated sound recording.
For weddings and private events, the same philosophy applies: discreet filming, attention to real moments, clean sound and editing built around rhythm and atmosphere rather than staged coverage.
Photography is also part of the N-trance Media offer. Alina Ștefan collaborates on selected projects and events, particularly in event photography, portraiture and client communication.
Based in Bucharest, N-trance Media works throughout Romania and is available for selected international productions.
What defines the company:
cinematic storytelling, direct communication, experienced hands-on production, attention to sound as well as image, flexible crews, and a preference for meaningful work over high-volume production.
