About me

I am Terence Johnson, a Film Editor by profession, with an experience of over 5 years in film editing.

I started my career at Birmingham City University studying film and media, which I graduated with a degree of a second-class division one. Shorty after that I did 3 months internship at BBC West Midlands where I learned and experienced the broadcasting production industry. My role was to assist the editors in creating packages that would be broadcasted live around the West Midlands. After completing and seeing my dedication and passion for film editing I went on to work for Sikh Broadcasting Channel to be a full time editor. In this role I also had the chance to learn more about the sound aspect that I've translate into other projects.

I have edited many corporate projects from companies like The Leprosy Mission. Understanding how to meet tight deadlines and meet the client's criteria to a high level.

Having that knowledge of camera dynamics, visual language, colour theory and cinematic continuity is key skills I have as a film editor because when working with directors I'm able to understand there ideas on why they chose to shot in that pacific way and develop that further in post production. This has developed from Directing and DOP my own short films, so when it came to being an assistant editor for a feature film I was able to visually communicate and understand the aim of the outcome the director wanted.
