About me

Dear Sir,

I have recently finished a work placement organised by the European Union, where I was working for a small start-up company in Barcelona, Spain.

The company, operating in the tourism sector, engaged my skills in web related activities as well as network administration. During the three months, I designed and implemented the company's website, maintaining information on the site as needed. In the workplace, I regularly used Photoshop and the Macromedia Studio suite including Dreamweaver and Fireworks. My other technical role was administering the organisation's network of Windows machines; installing hardware and software and configuring network communications. Being a small company, roles in the company were flexible and I also found myself interacting with clients including occasionally taking tour groups around the city, presenting information in English and Italian.

In my Computer Science degrees, I have extensively covered database technologies and dealt with XML; even constructing a parser for the language. I have also studied the discipline of Human-Computer Interaction substantially.

The three month programme I was taking part in, in Barcelona concluded at the end of September. Having enjoyed the technical roles I undertook working there, I have returned to London to pursue my career in IT, specifically web development.

I hope my attached CV is of interest to your company and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Noel Evans
