About me

I have been in the advertising/media Industry for over 20 years now, starting out as an apprentice in Pre-Press when I was just 18.

I moved on quickly from proofing to learning how to be a Mac Operator which at the time involved using mainly Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator to create adverts, place them on page, proof check to client/project managers and finally onto the Printers - I would work on the titles from start to finish dealing with clients/Project managers and Printers to completion.

I then moved into a more corporate business where I started to learn more about online work which involved building static and photoshop gifs, CMS uploading for out brands and dealing with the traffic team to completion.

After a couple of years working on the above I was asked to manage a team of 2 people and try to advance from Photoshop motion ads to rich media work which we done by using a package called Celtra - from this I was able to help with my team to bring 250k new revenue into the company being IPC Media at the time.

I was then moved into another team being the creative team and coming away from the Pre-Press side of things but continuing to build new skills such as designing and sending to audience for Email builds, sometimes have to fix HTML code which might have come in from clients and not be working. In this team I continued to build rich media ads in Celtra and use different CMS platforms for more brands within our company.

We then become part of Future PLC and I was tasked with remaining in the Creative team but I was asked to be the sole design support for the Planning team to create pitch mocks for various high end clients on our in-house brands to try and sell the work we could provide for them - mainly this would be done using photoshop & Celtra if motion was required - My work in this department in the last few years up until now has helped to gain a large amount of revenue for the company and I was also nominated for support staff of the month within the company due to my work.

I am a hard worker and never miss deadlines, willing to work on/above and beyond where required in order to get my work out and help the company to the best of my capabilities. I am a yes man - I don't like to think If tasked with something that I just can not do it - I try to find out out to do it and If that fails I will just ask someone to give me a nudge in the right direction to get the job done.

I am very rarely off sick (2013) was the last time. I am a good time keeper and believe my management skills of tasks and people are very good. I try to communicate a good level of organisation with whoever I am working with such as project managers/sales teams and my own team in order to make sure that every job tasked has all of the information needed to complete the job from the start so we are not going back and forward as I believe that can lead to mistakes happening.

I am very approachable and will always try to help anyone I can to the best of my ability.
