About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing with regards to the digital designer's position as posted on creativepool.co.uk I have attached my CV which contains my qualifications and experience. Please feel free to view my creative work and latest show reel at *
I am currently a graphic designer at a small creative agency based in Leicester; I formed this company in September 2003 with a fellow graduate from Coventry University. Since starting the company I have worked for Inventive Leisure, Global Glamour, NHS, EMDA, James Hull Associates, and Leicester City & County Council among others. Along the way I was awarded “Young Entrepreneur of the year” by the Centre for Enterprise Leicester. In 2009 my work was also featured in the “Design Leicestershire” book.
Through working here I have found a strong desire to work with motion graphics more and more which has led me to self teaching myself After Effects and Cinema4D, so that I could bring my print designs to life. I am also proficient in using Flash and the use of Photoshop and Illustrator are the backbone to creating all of my designs on a daily basis. I feel that the style of my motion work would be suitable for your company as many of the promos I have created have a cinematic feel to them which are reminiscent of movie trailers. You can view an example of this by following this link* I also have experience of working to story boards that have already been created. I can also create motion graphics from content provided to me and work to a given spec and brief. I am constantly updating my skills by learning new techniques, whilst working at the same time. Due to this I have been asked by senior lecturers at Coventry University to mentor students and teach them advanced software skills, particularly in the field of motion design.
Working at Fuelled Media I have gained a great deal of experience and there's nothing quite like being thrown in the “deep end”. However, I believe that I have outgrown this company's client base and seek out new bigger creative challenges and look forward to getting back in to the “hands on” creative seat, and working with other digital designers.
Yours faithfully
Nik Mann
