Senior Artworker

Taking rough designs by either sketches or early Mac visuals and working them up for presentation to client. Checking artwork for bleed/crops/CMYK high resolution and other aspects of print-ready files and delivery to printer. Checking printers proofs and making any amends before re-supplying artwork if necessary. Checking delivery of printed material before delivery to client, along with pass-on-press when printer specifies. Design of smaller jobs from start to finish. Working with copywriters suppliers and dealing with client amends. Maintaining network and smooth running of XServe/RAID and Macs & PCs. Sending files to printers/publications/web developers. Ensuring continual backup of all data and archiving. Overseeing Junior Artworker on projects.

Mac Operator

Artworked small jobs for small local company in North Wales on a part-time basis while at College. Jobs ranged from letterheads and other stationery to brochures. Small amount of work setting up press ads for publications.

Blackpool Printers

Work Experience

Spent first 4-5 weeks in Repro studio scanning images for clients. Checking artwork ready for print. Last 4-5 weeks spent in Factory learning how to strip and clean 4 colour machines. (This is all done electronically now - thank goodness)
