About me

I have been in the industry for about 8 years. In this time I ran a magazine company. The magazine covered three counties and turned a free 48 page, almost mono publication into a paid, perfect bound, full colour publication with 132 pages. I was responsible for managing the look of this magazine. The company was also successful in securing a deal with The Independent and I produced bi-monthly ´Best of´guides which resulted in an increase in circulation for the paper in the East Midlands region. I have also worked for the Nottingham Post Group and by the time I left was responsible for my own team and managed the production of the AdMag paper which covered Nottingham and Sheffield. My latest post was with Barkers. Barkers offered me the chance to work with high profile clients such as Boots, Nottingham City Council and Next. My role as Mac Artworker enabled me to experience design from an agency perspective. I assisted in producing day to day adverts, corporate identity materials and presentations used to pitch to future clients. I also undertook a full weeks training in the web programs Flash and Dreamweaver and began producing animated banners and online advertisements. I also continued to use Quark XPress, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
