Hi all — I'm Nick Fountain, Marketing & Communications Director at Fat Hippo, the 14-location strong restaurant group known for its unapologetically bold, "get it all over your face" food and quirky brand personality. I lead the end-to-end marketing strategy, helping Fat Hippo stand out in a crowded hospitality market and fuel double-digit growth through creative, disruptive campaigns and an always-evolving social strategy.
Over the past decade I've specialised in hospitality and consumer-facing brands, building and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns that cut through the noise and build meaningful, long-lasting audience connections. From brand positioning and content creation to social media strategy and partnership activations, I take a holistic view of brand growth — and I firmly believe hospitality, with its constant evolution and fierce competition, presents one of the most exciting and demanding challenges in marketing today.
Social media and content play a central role in our strategy, and I thrive on the opportunities that the ever-changing digital landscape presents — whether that's testing new platforms, engaging with communities, or harnessing user-generated content to extend reach and relevance.
Before joining Fat Hippo, I led and consulted for a media and creative agency, working with a broad mix of sectors — from hospitality to lifestyle and emerging brands. My approach has always been consistent: understand who you're talking to, create content that resonates with them, and build relationships rather than rely on hard-sell tactics.
I've also held senior roles across brand, design and marketing functions — shaping strategies that drive awareness, engagement and commercial impact. Whether it's through disruptive concepts, strategic campaigns, or simply pushing boundaries, I'm passionate about building brands that people love and remember.
