I am a designer with a fine art background who will offer: ideas, zeal and technical prowess to your company. Skilled in creative thinking across a range of media, I am confident in my ability to adapt and develop and believe my cross-pollination of media creates unique and professional resultsAs the current Art Editor for London based publishing company Gambit Interactive Media, I am directly responsibly for the design of the UKâ€(TM)s best selling business magazine Start Your Business. Other publications and websites include Start Your Franchise, Fanfair (launching September 2009) and Ultrapreneur (launching October 2009). Within these publications I manage the creative direction and workflow with a hands-on approach to design for both the print and online sectors. I work closely with the Photographic, Editorial, Advertising and Sales departments on a daily bases, executing design solutions which adhere to company guidelines, restrictions and branding requirements. I liaise with external clients taking designs from brief through to completion. This role varies from designing small flash web banners and html emails, conceptualizing themed photo shoots for fashion magazine Fanfair, and designing/artworking a 100 page monthly publication. I am highly efficient and accurate with the ability to prioritize tasks.Prior to my current position I was an Artist/Designer within the Editorial Art Department at Gold Coast Cityâ€(TM)s largest daily newspaper and website The Gold Coast Bulletin (News Limited, Australia). I was responsible for various projects across both online and offline designs including: Flash creations, logo design, illustration, page layout and art working for print and web, typography and audio visual production for daily website news feeds. This position had me dealing with journalists and trouble-shooting briefs into realistic and informative designs across multiple publications and style guides. This included both short and long term tasks. I was responsible for implementing the first major Flash content to goldcoast.com.au and worked within a team for the website rebranding. I am experienced working to strict deadlines and have the ability to perform under pressure with consistency.As a working partner in the boutique street-wear label Art Policia I was responsible for all aspects of design, seasonal concepts and production. Art Policia produced hand-made and limited edition t-shirts, jackets, jumpers and shorts, and distributed throughout Australia, Canada and Japan. This included hand drawn and painted designs, digital illustrations, screen printing, sewing and various fabric treatments.I have an in-depth knowledge of the full Adobe suite, QuarkXPress, and a front-end working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Actionscript 2. I am confident in all aspects of the design process from concept to completion and pride myself on meeting deadlines within budget. My work has taken me across both Mac and PC platforms and I am dexterous on both.Qualifications include a Bachelor of Visual Art in Fine Art (Honours) from the Queensland College of Art, and an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design and Multimedia from the Commercial Arts Training College. I am an all-rounder, eager to move into a design agency environment and become a vital ingredient in the workflow of the company.
