About me

I have recently completed a degree in religion and theology at Cardiff University, and through that, and along with the work experience that I have taken part in, I feel that I have the necessary skills that would be an asset to your organisation.

In doing my degree I have been able to gain a greater understanding of the many different aspects of people's religious characteristics which make up the society that we live in. I feel that with this understanding it puts me at a great advantage within the media industry, as my creative ideas would be able to reach a much wider demographic. Through my studies I have been able to acquire many skills in doing presentations, researching, working as part of a team, and meeting deadlines.

I have recently completed a month long work experience placement at Virgin Media Television, in which I had the tasks of being a runner on many sets, involved within the editing team, and in the post-production department. I spent a large part of my placement being involved with the creative department, which gave me the chance to have my own creative input into advertising promos for shows such as Street Crime Uk, UFC, there Action Heroes campaign, and many other of their top rated shows.

Through my work experience at my local radio station I have also managed to get the chance to take part in a radio production as a runner. This then led me to pursue my interests further, by taking up the opportunity of creating, production, and presenting my own radio show for the Cardiff student radio station, Xpress Radio. I am now going to be starting to produce and present my own weekly podcast- in conjunction with a new club night label 'the anything goes DJ show'.

In my job at Wish nightclub I was involved with the advertising and promotions section, which allowed me the creative freedom to come up with my ideas on how to turn a new nightclub into a recognised establishment.

I have also recently been doing temporary work in an administration department, which has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Exel, along with the general organisation skills that are co-insided with this type of work. Along with my general work at HelpHire I have also been given the position of a trainer in my department, which has led me to teach newcomers, and existing member from other sections what is required of them.

I know that I may not have as much experience as many of your applicants will have, but I am a fast learner, a hard worker, and I really want this job, so all I can ask of you is the chance to show you that I have the skills that you are looking for.
