About me

I wish to apply for the role of Junior Trend Forecasting Assistant -Fashion, job reference: FOR-JA-A as seen on Creativepool.co.uk.

I have an MA in Design and Art Direction, a graphic design based course, on which I specialised in the study of Fashion and Trend Communication. Having undertaken an MA I have strong abilities in research and draw from a variety of methodologies when forecasting. I have an eye for documenting emerging trends, in colour, shape and fabrication and I am able to coherently present my research. I was awarded a first class BA(hons) in Fashion Design for my practice in design, editorial layout and my dissertation, 'Contemporary Consumption of Fashion as Image'. I have worked as a Studio Assistant at Christopher Kane and a Buyers Administration Assistant at Accessorize.

I developed excellent communication skills while working in buying, negotiating with suppliers in both the UK and abroad. My communication skills are supported by my technical abilities and I use Adobe InDesign as well as practical hand based collage when developing trend concepts and mood boards.

I have an exceptionally organised yet flexible approach to work. I keep track of long term goals while creating job lists each day, which prioritise tasks and allow for any unexpected additions to be incorporated. I am well experienced at managing my own workload having worked to self directed objectives throughout my further education. My role as a Buyers Administration Assistant was also specifically focussed on providing the support and preparation that would allow for the efficient working of the busy department. This included managing tight deadlines for the buys, meeting targets and maintaining creative developments; gathering and synthesising information and presenting research in buyers meetings.

I have just finished a set term contract at Manchester School of Art (MMU), where I supported 3rd Year student through individual tutorials and prepared and delivered workshops in Drawing and Visual Research.
