About me

Setting high standards has always been key to success for me. Sounding cliché, but I believe a recent situation where I had to set high standards for myself was during my final projects for the second year. I believe in what you put in is what you get. In hindsight, looking at the state of the volatile design industry, it creates a competitive rivalry between everyone competing for a job within the design industry. To provide a competitive edge within this field, I believe working hard to obtain a degree which reflects my true potential as honestly as possible will provide me an opportunity within the design industry, possibly as a future creative designer. My hard work paid off when I obtained my desired upper second class result second year at Brunel University.

I have various attributes, which include effective team work, able to fit easily into existing working groups and build quick rapport within the group. I have sharp analytical skills developed whilst studying design process research methods during my second year at Brunel University. I have a good understanding of layout principles attained over the last few years and have knowledge and some experience of existing printing processes. I am a skilled user of Mac and PC systems with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash and experienced Dreamweaver and QuarkXpress 8. I have strong sketching skills alongside my creativity with a range of media experienced whilst studying Art and Design. I believe these skills will be vital to contribute to the success of a design company. I have had recent experiences of designing banners for a client's website and experience of a flash website created in a project for a charity site.

The job opportunity available and the skills obtained with the on-the-job training and the day-to-day experiences will greatly enhance my knowledge of the Creative design industry, while the feedback provided will help me develop skills and contribute to the success of a design company. Given the chance, I will be excited and determined, as I will be given the chance to work from a brief stage to completion of a project. This will be my own work and I could be seen to address activities such as identifying opportunities to cross sell to existing customers and attract new business.
