About me
I'm applying for the advertised position for a number of reasons, firstly as a very creative person with an extensive work history of graphic design and artworking, I can see parallels between what I do on a daily basis and the advertised position which appeals to me greatly. I am well versed in design principles and design packages and I'm very passionate about what I do, I think this evident in the work I carry out, be it a humble mono half page advertisement for a cruise holiday or the putting together of children's books which I write and illustrate in my own time. The 100% is always there for people to see.
Secondly, the position appeals to me as it involves working around deadlines which I absolutely adore, indeed as a person who has come from a newspaper background, deadlines are second nature to me and the challenge of creating excellent work in a short space of time never gets stale and is always personally rewarding.
Thirdly I like team environments and have always thrived on camaderie and team accomplishments, Working for Gills Cruise Centre means we have to as a team create advertisements which have to be emailed to the London printers by 2.00pm Friday afternoon come rain or snow, this means interpersonal communicative skills have to be heightened as details change on a frequent basis and things can go wrong so easily. This coupled with the liasing with printers and other department members means that the job is frequently fun and always rewarding.
In conclusion, I feel I have the necessary attributes to effectively work well in the advertised position, I am an affable, friendly, hard worker who works well either on my own or as part of a unit, who relishes new challenges, adapts well to new surroundings, loves meeting new people and would dearly love the chance to prove myself.
