About me

I acquired the majority of my work experience with a Toronto based graphic design company called SBL Communications. For 6 years I worked at SBL starting at an entry level, and working my way up to the position of a middleweight Graphic Designer working closely with senior designers, clients and printers. SBL Communications is a packaging design company. New clients would hire us based on the reputation we had for carrying number 2 brands to the number 1 spot. Advil, Trojan, King Industrial Products, and Caltrate are just a few of the product lines I worked on. My responsibilities within the company focused on designing original artwork in Illustrator and Photoshop, retouching, typesetting, designing new logos, flashes, and layouts, creating 3D digital mockups, dealing with client revisions and converting Freehand MX artwork files into Adobe Illustrator format. I also prepared files for printers, which included file separations, cleaning and organizing large multi layered Illustrator files, and compiling artwork, fonts, and files to CD.

Along with working for SBL Communications on large accounts. I also worked as a freelance Graphic Designer for various small clients in the entertainment industry. On these jobs I created posters, leaflets, and advertisements that acted as promotional materials that proved to be innovative, fresh and creative. On these projects I often acted as both Photographer and Graphic Designer.
