About me

To whom this may concern,

I have recently completed a BA Events Management Degree at The University of Greenwich. I will be graduating in July but all teaching and studying has ended and I available for full time work immediately. I have also gained a Diploma in Professional Practice for working in industry for 1 year. During this time I worked at two organisations both as an event assistant and then as an event organiser. I have also worked and volunteered at various events for the past 5 years.

I would be very grateful to be considered for this role as I am passionate about pursuing a career in the events industry. I was intrigued by the description of the role and it sounds like something I would be capable of doing successfully. I enjoy working as part of a team but I am also able to work independently and manage my own work load efficiently.

I have continued to gain events experience during my studies and I believe I have the skills to be successful in this role. For example, whilst working as an events assistant I was responsible for various administrative tasks such as the management of correspondence, the inputting of data and managing spreadsheets and information. I am extremely organised and I believe I make a great administrative assistant. Also, whilst planning and organising an international conference, I managed all of the important documents and kept my own lists and files.

Likewise, I am familiar with forming successful working relationships and I feel as though this is an extremely important character trait for any events manager. Whilst organising and managing an international conference it was my responsibility to liaise with delegates from all around the world as well as the venue staff, the chosen restaurants, the hotel and my supervisors. This role was challenging as I was working on an event in the security industry and therefore I have experience working in various environments with a variety of stakeholders. The result was positive and I was awarded 'star of the quarter' by the managing director for outstanding contribution to the organisation of a mega event.

I believe that I have excellent communication skills and I have demonstrated this on many occasions. For example, I have ran marketing campaigns and published mailshots to a database of over 20 thousand people. I have been in charge of customer service and managed live chat programmes. I have communicated via email and telephone in a variety of roles and I have demonstrated my abilities and success in administrative duties.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.

Yours faithfully,

Natalie Carroll.
